Erykah Badu for new Tom Ford’s perfume

The new delicate aroma for women White Patchouli by Tom Ford will be present in September 2008. Tom Ford is opening his flagship stores chain and each of them will have a perfume dedicated to that particular town.

White Patchouli, which is a modern twist on the classic bohemian ingredient. It is mixed as a game of bergamot, jasmine, white flowers, patchouli, peony, rose, coriander and ambrette seed. The White Patchouli is available in a white glass bottle in three sizes: 30, 50 and 100ml edt, and as body lotion. The perfume prepared for September is named Arabian Wood and it will be presented together with Ford’s store in Kuwait.

For this project, I wanted to reinvent patchouli,(…) I loved the idea of mixing patchouli with white florals. We used patchouli orpur, which takes out some of the darker, smoky notes of patchouli. We mixed that with peony, bergamot, and jasmine. Additional notes include rose, coriander, and ambrette seed.”

Ad campaign for this aroma was done in black and white by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The face for Tom Ford’s new perfume is popular singer Erykah Badu.

Erykah Badu is the Grammy Award-winning singer. She known for her neo-soul musical stylings and unique fashion sense, credits the cooperation to a “mutual respect and admiration” between herself and the Gucci group designer. Erykah Badu said,

I trusted him to pair my image with a fragrance that was exquisite, and he did that and more. I look forward to working with him again.”

The pageant, which was hosted by talk show host Jerry Springer and Spice Girl Mel B, had four Latina finalists in the Top 5 - Miss Mexico, Miss Colombia, Miss Dominican Republic, and Mendoza, Miss Venezuela.

During an interview with the judges, she was asked who she thought life was easier for - men or women, to which she replied:

Victory Motorcycle - TRAINING WHEELS!

Being a Harley Davidson fan i would have never considered Victory Motorcycles, however they were having an open house at their manufacturing facility just west of Minneapolis, MN. I had to go check it out! Saturday i went for a ride and tried to keep an absolute unbiased opinion. Although the crowd was a little different than HD, we had a good time and i would recommend the bike. However, you would have to be serious with a sticker price of over $20K for a well equipped 100 C.I. V-twin.

Are you one of the victims of the white wardrobe after Labor day!

Your not alone, I'm with ya on that one!

With many traditions and customs, there's no real reason, " why you can't wear white after labour day!"

it's actually a Myth created long, long time ago, probably long before you were even born!

Originally, the rule was more along the lines of "Only wear white shoes between Memorial Day and Labor Day." It mainly applied to white pumps or dress shoes. .... which is RIDICULOUS!

The only logical reasoning for this theory you make ask?

An Image consultant Nancy Penn explains:

White reflects light and heat, wearing white would make you cooler in winter, and thus should be avoided. But others suggest the rule stems from a class issue.

You may be SURPRISED:

It also has to do with class. In the early part of last century, a lot of people started making the jump from middle to upper class. The rule came about to help these "nouveau-riche" people understand high society fashion, which they didn't have a natural affinity for.

Did you know that owning a pet could help you live longer?

More than 60 percent of Canadian households include pets, and those pet owners pour $41 billion a year into pet care.

I know what you’re thinking.... that's a lot of money. But when you consider the fact that owning a pet could very likely add years to your life it quickly seems like a wise investment.

According to a study by the Minnesota Stroke Institute that followed more than 4,000 cat owners over 10 years, resulted that owning a cat can dramatically reduce a person's chance of dying heart disease.

Let's get more specific:

People who owned cats were 30 percent less likely to suffer a heart attack. Although the study can't make the same conclusion about dogs but they provide similar results.

And let's not forget the benefits for the elderly. For example, one study observed neural activity in seniors while they walked or interacted with a dog. It showed that walking with a dog gave seniors a boost in parasympathetic nervous system activity. In simple terms, it's good because their nervous system helps calm and rest the body.

Other studies conclude that children with dogs cope better with serious situations.

It's sort of obvious: pets provide love and taking taking care of a pet is positive for the child.

That's not the only benefit!

You'll be amazed to hear that certain dogs can predict when their owner is about to suffer an epileptic seizure. Some dogs end up developing a mysterious ability to warn the owner before he or she suffers a seizure.

According to the Canine Assistants, they claim that most dogs develop prediction abilities within a year of being with their owner.

There are many more reason's to have a pet but for whatever reason, pets certainly can have a special effect on their owners.
